Traveling to DR in Nov. 2007

This will be my frist trip to the DR. I think we are going to stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. Can anyone tell me anything about it. We have traveled to Mexico the last 5 years and stayed at the Iberostar Lindo. Has anyone been to both places and can make a comparison for me. Thanks for your help
