Re: Ryan International Air-Help!!!

We flew Ryan International from Minneapolis to Puerto Plata in January '99. Our flight was delayed 3 hours from Minneapolis, so it was dark when we arrived in Puerto Plata. On returning, our flight was suppose to leave at 3:00 pm monday. 3:00 pm came and went, so did 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 the whole time the flight monitor showed our flight ontime. Our travel representative finally showed up at the airport around 9:30 pm to inform us the flight wouldn't leave until the next day. So at around 11:00 pm they brought us back to a hotel (not nearly as nice as the one we had been staying at) and told us to set our alarms early as the flight would be leaving at 9:00 am. We got up expecting to leave the hotel at 7;00 only to find a sign at the reception desk saying our flight wouldn't be leaving until 12:00 pm. Finally they brought us back to the airport at around 10;30 am. By 12:00 pm it became obvious the flight wasn't being prepared for take off and continued sitting at the gate. At long last at 1:30 pm we lifted off from Puerto Plata Int'l Airport. For our inconvience Ryan International gave us 2 $50 travel dollars to be used within in a year.

Hope that helps.

Re: Ryan International Air-Help!!!

Ryan flies out of Minneapolis. We've ended up on Ryan through TransGlobal Vacations and MLT to our dismay, numerous times. It doesn't seem to matter if they fly domestic or international, flights are uncomfortable, the staff not always attentive and they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS late. Doesn't matter if they are taking off from Minneapolis, Orlando, Mexico or Atlantis...maybe that's why they're always late. They know where Atlantis is...Yeah! That's it! Good luck. Take a sleeping bag...Or just show up for your flight late. You'll be right on time!
