Hi. We just came back. It's a super resort. The rooms on the higher floor (3 or 4) may have their view of the ocean blocked by the trees. Our friends said these rooms feel bigger though as the ceiling is vaulted. Some balconies are smaller on the 3rd floor. The problem with the resort is the air conditioning wasn't working 2 nites we were there & there are no ceiling fans. The Riu Bambu (next door) had the same problem. We got moved the 3rd morning to a room with air conditioning, but it is a problem. The resort is very, very upscale---the service & food selection is very high quality.Dinner is 7 or 9:00. We found 9:00 too late, but you can change your time frequently. Make sure you eat at the restaurant on the beach & at the a la carte restaurant (you ahve to reserve by 2:00 on that day) where our filet mignon was very good.Save it for a nite you're tired of the buffet. If you burn like I do, you'll have to reserve an umbrella quite early, 7 or 7:30, but it may not be crowded when you're there. The Riu Bambu is definitely more lively, a younger crowd, so you can go there to watch the nitely entertainment.

thank you Becky for your response. I have a few more questions if you dont mind. Was there a coffee maker in your room? was your minibar free? were there irons in your room? Why did you have to reserve an umberella on the beach? with whom did you make this reservation with? thanks kim
