the dominican fiesta hotel in SD has an olympic quality ping pong set-up. by the pool is a building devoted solely to the sport. four tables, padded floor, AC, nicest set-up i have seen anywhere......when finished cool off in pool...

and from what is posted on the walls it looks like they have some sort of league that plays there.......

There is major Table Tennis in the DR. It is one of the most active and successful sports federations. In Santiago you can practice on the third floor of the Student Center at the PUCMM or in la Barranquita TT Pavilion.
In Santo Domingo there is a large facility in the Parque del Este, over by the Faro de Colon......And there are other places.
Call Hoy newspaper, ask for Cuchito Alvarez, and ask HIM for a number for Mario, his son...
In Santiago, call CODETEL and ask for Juan Vila.
