My friends and I are visiting Cabarete this Saturday and staying for a week. Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to be raining the whole week!

ARGHHH!!! I guess some things are just out of your control.

Do you know if these forecasts are accurate? And if they are, is Cabarete still fun in the rain?

Well, forecast for this weekend seems to be 30-40% chance of rain. Today's forecast is 30% chance of rain and it's a gorgeous day (at least for now).

Normal weather pattern here depending on time of year is typically sunny days with rain showers late afternoon, during the night or early morning. Of course, there are those occasional 24 hour wet days...

Wind is the important thing here in Cabarete. If the wind is blowing, people are kiting and windsurfing. Friday & Saturday night will be busy at Onno's and Bambu starting about 11:30pm - rain slows things down a bit as they are small bars and most of the partying is in front of them on the beach.

Head to the casino (1 minute taxi ride east of town for 200 pesos) after Onno's & Bambu close at 2 a.m. It has a nice disco & bar upstairs that's open all night. There is an admission charge there of 2-300 pesos :surprised

Accurate??
What a laugh.
It's not even accurate in North America.
Here it's like pinning the tail on the donkey.
Besides, if you know anything about how weather comes to us from the East (Africa) and you look at the Sat pix, it looks pretty good for the next few days to come.

Nahhhh, don't worry about it...it often rains every night, but it's truely rare for it to rain all day during March.....unless there's a big storm around. My guess? You'll have bright, sunny days.
