I'm planning on emigrating to Santiago after I sell up in the UK.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to open up a ? account, say at CitiBank/CitiCorp or Novia Scotia and if so, what kinds of interest rates I can expect.

Thx

I think you find they deal in RD$, US$ and Euros.

Interest rate depends on what type of account etc.

Search for "banco central" on this board for in on CD's.

Robert,

Thank you. I'll take a look.

Also, I don't suppose you would know whether the Euro or USD would be a better exchange rate when I eventually convert this money to Peso do you?

I guess that depends on when and how much you convert?

Right now the US$ is around RD$32.50 and the Euro RD$42.70.
That can vary on the amount and who you change with.

Euros vs. USD re conversion rates

Thanks for your replies. Think I'll stick with USD, as the pound is quite strong against the USD at the mo.
