Great news! Metro now has services to Sosua and Cabarete :bunny:
I can't see it on their website but I received some advertising from them.

My wife recently came back from getting her hair cut with the same news. She was told that in Sosua tickets are sold at the Texaco station, probably by the farmacia. In any case, people there should have information on prices and schedules.

Cost from Santo Domingo to Cabarete: RD$300
Duration: 4 and 1/2 to 5 hours
Route: Route: Santo Domingo - Santiago - Puerto Plata - Sosua - Cabarete
Departure Schedule: 7am, 11am, 4pm.

Cost from Cabarete to Santo Domingo: RD$300
Duration: 4 and 1/2 to 5 hours
Route: Cabarete - Sosua - Puerto Plata - Santiago -Santo Domingo
Departure Schedule: 8am, 1pm, 5:30pm.

(Active Cabarete - Transportation to, from and around cabarete)

I would check with both offices before you try to catch either bus from Cabarete as they were not operating last week due to disputes with taxi drivers etc.
I have to go to Sosua to pick up a package today!!!!!!!!!

In Sosua they operate out of the Farmacia at the Texaco station. From memory I believe the times posted for departure were 7AM, 11AM, and 4PM. If I pass by I will make a note of the times for sure.

In the Capital the stop is on Churchill near Feb.27.

I beleive the Metro station in Santo Domingo is near the Acropolis Mall. Maybe a block or 2 away.

Yes they are running. My friend went from Sosua to SD this morning. The bus left Sosua at 8:20 AM.

The bus was Metro. I am not sure about Cabarete but I will check when I pass by the farmacia.

Hope they don't give in to them!

If the taxis weren't such robbing bar-stewards I'd have a bit of sympathy for them. What would really hurt them err, sorry be a good thing, would be if they dropped at the airport!

As I posted earlier neither service is running in or out of CABARETE.
Yes they are running from Sosua.

Metro is running from Cabarete.

To SD 8:00AM From Cabarete 8:20AM From Sosua
1:00PM From Cabarete 1:20PM From Sosua
5:30PM From Cabarete 5:50PM From Sosua

I did not check Caribe Tours, but I assume they either are running or will be shortly. This problem seems to have been resolved.
