Default wattage and style of power outlets

Does anyone know if I'll need a converter to use the DR outlets or are they the same shape and wattage as those in the US?

Unless you are talking about a resort in which case you can be reasonably certain of getting 120 VAC 60 Hz (more or less).

Sometimes more and sometimes less and sometimes nothing, depending on where you are If the lights start glowing very brightly, turn everything off quickly - this is too much! If the lights don't come on, there probably is nothing ..

Depending on what your are renting or buying some of the older "german" built houses use the two pronged european 220 (?) outlets.
