Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows what teacher's in Puerto Plata roughly make?

I understand that the International schools would pay better, but what about the local schools? Eg - Alic School

Thanks!

Very little and sometimes the money doesn't come in at all. 40 students to a classroom in most public schools. You supply your own resources of course.

From living in the DR. :ermm: And the information is accurate.
Local schools payscales (not to the penny of course) is between 5,000 and 10,000 pesos a month. That is about 200 to 300 US dollars a month. There is nothing in the schools and you have to supply your own teaching materials.

Local 'government' schools in the DR have some of the lowest payrates in the world.

Oh I didn't doubt the information! Just wondering because I wanted to research it myself as well :)
Thank you all for your information!
