Hello,

I intend to buy a small 1000w or 1200w gas generator to use to recharge batteries for my power inverter.

Should I purchase it in the USA or in DR?

In the USA I can buy one for about $120.00.

But I know I'll probably have to pay some sort of tax when I bring it into the DR.

Does anyone know how much a small one will cost in the DR?
(previous posts mention Honda Ciabenas in Santiago)

Which approach is more cost effective?

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't know the price differential, but if it's cheaper where you live, it would be really easy to fit one of those super silent 1 kw untis in your bags,
Honda Generators - Honda's Portable Electric Power Generator Line
as long as it doesn't get stolen in transport.
809-581-1112 is Honda Cibae?a's number, if you speak Spanish and want to inquire about the local price and availability.
