What computer skills are best for finding a job?

After my last trip to the DR I have been thinking more seriously about moving to the DR. I currently work as a mainframe production support analyst but know these skills are becomming less in demand (at least here in the US). I was wondering if any of you computer types with experience in the DR could inform me what kind of skills are in demand there. Jim Hinsch, I wish I had asked you more about what you do when I met you in Boca Chica (enjoyed your BC site). Any ideas? I was thinking along the lines of learning Visual Basic and/or web design. Also, can someone direct me to any search firms that do a lot of business in the DR?

Thanks! Parrothead

Looking for a good job in the DR?

Looking for work in the English language in the DR? I work for an online marketing company in the Las Americas Zona Franca that's looking for English/French/German-speakers with some basic internet skills (but will train the right people) to work in customer service, marketing, technical and other areas. It's a growing business and needs lots of staff. Check out the jobs page at www.leo-data.com and also www.iglobalmedia.com, then send a resume and cover letter to admin@leo-data.com. I did, and it's worked out really well.

Parrothead,
Visual Basic and Delphi programmers are in demand down here. Also, Freehand and Dreamweaver experts are wanted. It would be great if you had experience and spoke spanish. Don't settle for a salary less than RD$20,000 per month.

Good luck.
