Dominican Republic Weather ? When shouId I come

I'm debating between coming to the Dominican Republic June 10 or July 15 for a weeks stay along the North Coast (Samana Peninsula). Wondering which would be better as far as RAIN which is my primary concern and generally speaking what to expect weather-wise at that time of year. Thanks in adance.

You can always check on www.weather.com. I traveld to the DR during June in 1997. The temp would get to about 75-80' F at night and about 90-100'F during the day. I do not think it rained once the entire week. I believe the rainy season is Dec-Feb. Currently on the weather chanel site they have said rain in Puerto Plata 'scattered showers'. When I speak to my friend there she denies, and if there is iy is scarce. In fact DR 1 was reporting drought concerns about 1 mnth ago. I plan on going last week of May or beg. of July. It is currently hot with about 70-80 % humidity. CANNOT WAIT!!!!!! Enjoy you trip!!! I don't think rain will be a problem. As long as El nino/a stay clear.
