After a year I thought the mosquitoes loved me less and thought I was beginning to get immune to their attacks.... no way, in the last few days I have been "eaten alive" again just like when we moved here last June and were here for a holiday the June before so is June major mosquito season?

I can probably guess what you mean as I am not stupid. I have many frogs here, both the fluffy kind, ceramic ones. prints of them (my favourite being the one my Mum bought me where his is reading PlayFrog, entitled Frog's Porn!!) and, of course, real ones - I couldn't bring my entire frog collection from England though

Mountainfrog's comment was not a slur on your identity, whirleybird. He was responding to you saying you'd been eaten alive and he was making a joke: if you've been eaten alive then who is posting..........? I don't think he was referring to anything else at all, but of course if I'm wrong M'frog will doubtless correct me, using his ribbiting humour.............;)

More mossies now because of recent rains, btw.

know what I mean?

;) Reminds me of the Mental Health Hotline:

Hello, and welcome to the Mental Health Hotline. If you are obsessive-compulsive, press 1 repeatedly. If you are co-dependent, please ask someone to press 2 for you. If you have multiple personalities, press 3, 4, 5 and 6. If you are paranoid, we know who you are and what you want. Stay on the line so we can trace your call. If you are delusional, press 7 and your call will be transferred to the mother ship. If you are schizophrenic, listen carefully and a small voice will tell you which number to press. If you are a manic-depressive, it doesn't matter which number you press-no-one will answer. If you have attention deficit disorder you are probably me and I should be answering a question about mosquitos..............:laugh:

Welcome Shirley Whirleybird.

Here's one remedy if you want to keep them at bay (at least for awhile) - if you put 3 or 4 drops of either peppermint oil or lavender oil on a lightbulb in the room, it will chase those pesky little bastards somewhere else.

In a pinch, I have even used Lavender-scented air freshener and it works long enough to let me go to sleep, so they can return and have supper, but not bother me in the process. Some alcohol on the bites in the morning seems to help too.
