Hi,
incidently we learned that in schengen :

 when a shengen euro citizen, married to a DR woman,
does not live in his shengen euro country
then his DR wife will get AUTOMATCALLY a FIVE YEARS shengen visa.

ex
german living in another shengen country (france, belgium, etc)
french living in another shengen country (germany, Belgium, etc)

:tired: BUT if a shengen husband live in his shengen country, then
his wife will only receive a 6 month paper, renewable
ex
german living in germany
french living in france, etc

I don't know about that.

Since I am now officially unemployed (hear that tax department?) I do not qualify for a Schengen visa anymore, at least not on my own, despite having traveled and obtained visas many times before. However, because I am married to a Schengen citizen legally residing in the Dom. Rep. (and mother to a Schengen citizen) I don't have to have a job. BUT, I still have to prove that I am financially able to travel on my own (bank letters). The maximum stay available in this cases is a 90 day-visa with multiple entries. At least that was the information I got from the French consulate and various official websites that I consulted. Mind you I have never wished to spend that much time in Europe anyways.
