My wife had her bone scan Tuesday at CEDIMAT. Thanks to all who gave us this recommendation. They checker hip, spine and knee. The cost was RD$2,300. Service very professional and I highly recommend it to anyone.
She didn't have a prescription, so they took her to the office of the Internal Medicine doctors and the secretary there wrote out a prescription.
I found the people at CEDIMAT very helpful
If you go there, best to have somebody with you that can handle the paying while you wait your turn to be tested. The paying process takes quite a bit of time as you go to a large room that has numbered desks along one wall and cashiers along the other. You wait by the door uintil a woman stationed there directs you to one of the numbered desks, where your information is taken and and recorded. Then you stand in line and wait to pay a cashier. Because most of the people in line are Dominicans using their insurance, this wait can be long. However, I asked a young man who seemed to be stationed there which window I went to for a cash payment. He pulled me out of the line and sent me immediately to the closest cashier. I know how much this helped because the woman I was behind in the line came into the office for her bone scan just when my wife and I were leaving.
Bone scans are given between 8 am and 4 pm. No appointments given, you wait your turn. But a bone scan is done quickly, 10 minutes more or less, so the wait isn't long. We finished about noon and the girl in office said that the results would be ready at 4 the next day. However, when we told her we were returning to Sosua in the morning, she said to come back at 2 pm.
