I know that definition, thank you.

What I would like to know is what is a Chamberlain in regards to local weddings in the DR?

como los caballeros en una boda???

the ushers in a wedding?? They accompany the bridesmaids in the wedding party. But I think the bridal courts are kinda going out of fashion.

Mexicans call it exactly that "chambelan" usually for a 15th birthday. The "quincianera", the birthday girl has 4 or 6 guys accompany her and they all do dances for the guests.

Don't the groomsmen accompany the bridesmaids in the wedding party or is this not the norm in the DR?

I was told that they do dances for the bride and groom?

We also have "chambelanes" for quince parties. There are usually 15 chambelanes/damas. The birthday girl first dances with her dad, then she dances with her designated charberlain and then the whole groups presents their dance.
