Well I had thought that the GRAN ALMIRANTE Casino was one of the better casinos. You know one that might not have had rigged tables or issues along those lines. We go all the time and the worst I ever noticed was the numbers board would be truned off , so you could not follow the numbers that hit on roulette.

well we went and at our table 0 and 00 came out 6 times in the first 20 spins .....well after a little while everyone started playing those numbers and a lot of people were hitting. After about an hour of another percentage of 0 and 00's coming out and long payouts. One of the pit bosses comes over to the side of the table , asks a woman to step aside , goes down under the table for 5 or 6 seconds....then comes up and leaves. 0 and 00 came out maybe once or twice in the next hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pretty damn blatant if you ask me.......sure I am assuming....but can you blame me?

we won money two nights in a row anyway......

I always wonder about the ball that settles, then pops straight up...must of had some crazy english still on it !!! ha ha ha ha ha

Years ago up in Maryland, we were at a store with slot machines. After the guy came over to TAKE OUT the excess coins in the machine, you could not even get one of the Cherries to hit.

Guess at the Casino here the little ball has a metal center, electro-magnet sensitive perhaps!

I bet you trust the Lottery here also Bob!

I watched it once on TV, they showed the ball being selected on TV, then changed camera to show you from a different angle what number the ball was. They did this for each ball of the number.

So much for "Keeping your eye on the ball"

Black Magic? Smoke and Mirrors?

Wow! - Look at my case...

If you think that is something. I have watched the Jaragua casino forget to pay the people who are playing the bonus on games like 3-card poker and carribean stud. You know that they have that bonus crappy game for suckers - if you bet on it, every once in a while you get this thing called DEALER FORTUNATO (or something like that) and if you had added credits towards the dealer, then you win. Well, more than once, in fact more than 5 times, I watched the dealer FORGET to pay those at the table who had credits applied to that bet unless it had been brought to the attention of the dealer and pit boss. And yes, for those skeptics, the dealer was different on many occassions.

Also - While I am not trying to pick on the Jaragua casino (since I enjoy gambling there), I was playing the 25 cent video poker machines on the side wall. After I reached 400 credits ($100 dollars), I cashed out and took them to the window. While the bucket of quarters did appear to be a bit "light", I took it to the window for cashing anyway. They paid me $50 and said that is it.... When I complained LOUDLY, they sent someone over to check out the machine and they finally paid me the balance with a voucher that I had to take to the window. They said that the machine had a faulty "Counter" Do I think they are intentionally cheating??? - - - -

Here is the Creme-de-Le-Creme:

As you know, I am American and I speak very little Spanish, but I LOVE the DR and I love to play in the casinos. I was once again playing in the Jaragua casino on the 25 cent video poker machines. This was during the afternoon about 2 PM. The machine was in the middle row and I was lucky enough to hit a Royal Flush! - The Jackpot was for $1,000 dollars (4,000 Coins). The machines was blinking and ringing like an alarm bell. The screen was blinking and read: Jackpot - Royal Flush. - - - Call Attendant - Hand Pay $1,000 ::: When I called over an attendant, they smiled and called over this gentleman in a suit who with spoke fairly good English and told me that was not Dollars, but Pesos... - - - He again, told me that I had won 1,000 RD Pesos. I was getting so upset, that I told him, that since I had been playing Quarters, Just open up the machine and count out to me 4,000 quarters and I would be happy. This went on for about 20 minutes and I asked to speak to the GM of the Hotel (later I found out the GM of the Hotel had nothing to do with the casino) by then they finally they corrected themselves and gave me a voucher for $1,000 dollars which I cashed in at the window. Of course the Chicas were following me very CLOSELY......

I love the DR and I love the casinos.... Just be careful and be vigilant. I am not sure if there is an agency like the Gaming Commision like there is in the states. If there is, they should take a look at the practices of their casinos or maybe they just could care less....

:bored:

The Casino in the Jaragua is owned by Steve Vincent, an American from Florida. The hotel does not own it. He is not the most well liked guy in the Capital.

I used to get a Lottery Magazine many years ago when I played with the lotteries.

The magazine would report on lotteries all over the world. I forget what South American country it was, but they reported on this one guy that had hit the Lottery Jackpot about 4 times (I don?t remember the exact number).

They asked him how come he won so many times.

His answer was "I guess I am just lucky".

The magazine then went on to note that this guy JUST HAPPENED TO BE, the person in charge of the lottery in that country.

I have always wanted to try the casinos here in the DR, but have never gotten around to doing it. I'm usually pretty good at the slot machines. I watch and then play the machines that have not hit for a while and the player walks away. I walk away as soon as I hit something.

I hit 8 out of 10 on Keno 3 times on the same machine in Las Vegas by watching the machine, I noticed certain number came up a lot, so I played a combination of them. I told my wife the secret and she also hit 8 out of 10. That paid for our weekend trip and we went home with more money then we came with.

So, Bob, when are we going to the casino?

I will share half my losing with you if you share half your winnings with me.

Another Cheap-O!

Sky you right on the money! - The owner of the Jaragua can not be very well liked, because he is definately a cheap-O who does not reinvest back in his business. That is the largest casino in SD and it very well attended and packed usually every night and weekend. That place could be a PLATINUM Mine if were cleaned up. The place always smells like stale booze and foul cigarettes. Late at night is smells like vomit in the corners of the room. The machines are awful in in the worst condition. Not becuse they dont pay out regularly, but 95% of them are broken. They don't accept coins, the buttons are broken, they are out of service, etc.. - - -

I own 4 slot machines myself that I have in our family game room that I bought from a online auction site for less than $600 each. Each has been completely refurbished and work excelent. If this guy wanted to do better, I am sure that he could. The slot revenue alone should do it for him. Also, I heard that the employees there are the lowest paid in any casino in the country. - Did you notice that Only females work at the table games? - Is this because he pays a lower wage to them than the male counterparts at the neighboring casinos.

I wonder how he gets away with this? - - -

I can understand how easy it is to rig and cheat on the slot machines, but I am still puzzled about the blackjack table at the old Breezes Casino (BTW it is set to reopen next week). We left the table and the casino vowing never to return again after the dealer delt herself 6 straight Black Jacks. I wonder what the true odds on this are????????

The odds are 20-1 to be dealt a BJ.

Six in a row would be 64,000,000 to 1!!!!!

Bob - What AZB forgot to tell you as that the casino manager only goes down to tie his shoes when they are need to generate more revenue.

you know to me it doesntmake sense to try and rig the wheel unless they can jump the ball out of any slot they want...and then see what number has the most money on it and make sure the ball bounces out of that number.... that means a guy upstairs watching the table every spin with a fast button finger!!!!!!!!!! usually the table is so loaded with chips it doesnt matter......I see them pay out on 10" high stacks of chips bets.

at the roulette table the dominicans play EVERY chip they own , every spin of the wheel. since they play so many numbers they usually win...and get back a huge payout , but the one time they get unlucky and dont hit at all, they have to go to their pocket...thats why they always go backwards. they win huge piles over and over, but put it all back on the table until they dont hit...then back to the pocket for more cash.....happened on every table every night all night long!!!!!!!!!!!

A guy can put 1,000 pesos on a number and if it hits...he leaves the bet right there for the next spin of the wheel!!!!!!! if he does that 100 times maybe he hits the same number 3 times!!!!!! they dont care about odds!!!!!!!

then they have the guys that want to put out all their chips(up to 200) AFTER the guy spins the ball....it is like sacrilegious to play a bet before they spin the ball!!!! then it is a madhouse of activity when three guys are trying to do that.......ha ha ha ha

You can play the Florida Lottery Bob, I'm pretty sure that one is honest.

Where I used to work:

One young lady, who I knew, hit Fantasy5 for around $220,000.
One engineer, I did not know him personally, hit Lotto for around $6 million.
One guy from production control, who I knew, hit Lotto for around $6 million.

AND, this one, a real ♥Heart Breaker♥ for me,

One lady friend, we worked together in the same department, and she used to be in my Lotto pool (We had hit 5/6 once), years later, hit the Lotto for around $8 million, AND she had the ONLY winning ticket, just like the other 2 above.

So, lightning does strike twice, in the case of Lotto where I worked, 3 times that I know about.

Has anyone been to the casino at Ocean Sands Golf and Casino Hotel in Cabarete and how was it?

We go there on occasion. It is small, modern, usually friendly and the drinks flow freely. There is a disco upstairs that is usually prettty full. Lots of tourists but they are local frienldy as well.
