DR School system...

Primary: 1-6
Middle: 6-8
Highschool/Secondary: 9-12

University, anywhere from 4 to 6 years depending on the career choses.

Just an overview.

Most schools go 1-8, a primary, then 9-12.

Quality is not an issue. It is very very poor in the public system, and for most of the private sector it is only marginally better. there are some very good schools that cost a lot, a whole lot of money. These are for the career-driven kids--those that will go to top colleges and universities around the US, Europe and the DR.

In private colegios, they have pre kinder, kinder, pre primaria also.
