Hi can anybody tell me any other AI hotels in Rio San Juan or the towns near it?

The Bahia Principe is the only AI in that area. The only things that come close would be Eden Bay Resort which is close to Cabrera, but that is a 'clothing optional' resort. There is a place, also close to Cabrera called 'La Catalina', but that is simply a nice hotel with a pool (no beach), where you can have breakfast and dinner include in your tab (no drinks). Bahia seems to be the only option for miles.

According to the morning news here in the UK they are still having big problems at this hotel. The GMTV report said that a great many people are ill right now (SKY News said 'hundreds') and they spoke to one guest via a phone link who confirmed this. I am travelling to the DR for the first time in a few days and we are staying at the Holiday Village Golden Beach, which I understand has had its own problems of late...
I will be peeved if my OH or myself fall ill after shelling out ?1800.

aranoid:It is getting a little confusing, just watched Sky News and they are showing pictures of, and referring to in their captions, the Bahia Principe in San Juan whereas the Sky News website refers to the hotel in Punta Cana......?
Is there anyone reading this board in DR at the moment who can help to clarify which resort is affected and how badly?
