I am preparing for my 3rd trip to D.R. and can't wait. It's probably been 20+ years since I was there. On my 2nd trip, we stayed in Puerto Plata. One day, we took a trip to a town where the "LIME" Faceless Ceramic Dolls were made. I love these dolls & am desperately trying to find this Town.

Can't be far from Puerto Plata. These Dolls are sold in the Gift Shops & are much more expensive in the Shops, of course.

HELP!!! Leaving 8/22 for La Romana.

Dominican Dolls

I also bought some of these dolls back in 1996. I got mine from a shop in the Plaza in the Playa Dorada resorts near Puerto Plata. Not sure if they still sell them there as its over 10 years ago. The original dolls are called Gifina and they have a website Gifina Handcrafted Figurines so they should be available somewhere in La Romana. Hope you get this message before you go.

You can't buy the Lima dolls anymore. I have some from many years ago. The Lima dolls are not to be found, but have been replaced by a cheaper no-name version.
