Option 1:
For commercial and residential applications, I recommend JDP Sistemas de Seguridad out of Santo Domingo which installs throughout the whole country.
They handle everything from basic residential to complex bank security systems (they work with some of the largest banks here in the DR).
You can call Julissa Peralta directly (she has some English) at her cell (809) 284-5103. She is the architect I work with and the daughter of the owner of JDP Sys. At your election you are free to tell her J-D. Sauser sent you.

Option 2:
For simple or small residential use you may also consider buying a do-it-yourself wireless kit on-line in the States... it's the same technology seen installed locally at a premium for so many applications (the same that is standard in US homes too).

Option 3:
Otherwise, I know of people who have been using Edwin NU?EZ Redondo out of Puerto Plata. His cell is (809) 310-0526.

Re: #3 above;

A wired system with its own power supply is best. But... if wired during construction and on the plans... everyone knows your system. Installing a wired system after construction... cement dust beyond your belief... unless you want wires running all your walls and insight.

Wireless?: May not go past 2 reinforcedd cement walls/floor to the main system.

Plug into home "outlet" systems using home electrical wires: Unless you have full sinewave inverter/gen. will most likely not work.

Do your research.... Regards

True, a planned ahead wired system is best.

I have a wireless system working in the house I presently rent. 3 bed / 3 bath on two stories... works OK. I however suspect the wireless function could easily be disturbed. It has a battery backup and could be connected to a monitoring service. But then, this is just a basic home, and should not attract any specialists.

Just some additional tips or opinions: Window sensors are a thing of gone by times. Use motion and glass breakage sensors instead. Thieves do not slide open a window... they most likely brake it. In the US, glass breakage (micro phonic) sensors are common and work well... so the alarm goes off, at the beginning of the "job". The idea is to have all hell break loose asap... so you will have less damage and be less likely to have to confront your unexpected visitors.

We cannot get through on either of the two numbers you posted. Do you have any other numbers we could contact them on?

Go to Radio Shack in Santiago. It costs about $160 USD. You get a do it yourself install kit with a console, 2 motion detectors, 2 window/door alarms, 1 key ring remote control. You can also purchase additional door or window alarms as well as a key ring remote control, also light timers etc. I set mine up so the motion detectors cover the doors and windows. Currently there are 2 settings, one a simple ding dong for the alarm or a siren that makes you cover your ears. Each unit is battery driven(wireless), the console also has batteries but uses household power as primary power. Some options, you can program up to 7 telephone numbers and your own personal message to call should the alarm trip. I call my cell number and 2 neighbors. when you recieve the alert you can listen in to your house via the console for any noise. The cops don't like these programmed to call them, due to false alarms.

I should maybe have mentioned that all 809 numbers are to be preceded by a "1" (?).

Edwin is traveling as I posted.

Julissa Peralta... I talk to her every day on 1-809-284 5103. You can alternatively PM me your number and she WILL call you back. You may also call me... I will PM you my number.

I hope this is of help to you. If it isn't, feel free to let me know.

Alarm system

I also purchased the one mentioned above from Radio Shack. For the price, its well worth it. You can also add on moduels as needed, more window/door, motion detectors, flashing light or an outdoor siren. Very easy to set up. I like that it would call my cell phone and I could listen to the interior of my house; great feature. Make sure to purchase good quality batteries: Duracell, the system takes a lot of them but worth the cost. Also, try to hide or place main unit in middle of your house out of direct sight, not by front door. If that is where they come in and see/hear the unit, it can easily be destroyed. Hope this helps. Take care.

Alerta in Santiago installed our alarm system; also did the same for several others I know in Sosua. We have had our system in place for 1.5 years without any problems. 809-583-6900
