Jaragua was decent -- Rooms wreaked of stale cigarette smoke. The casino was good. It was the only place i knew of that was open past 2am and there was a party vibe going on upstairs.

Acropolis is filled with women both young and older, mostly young.

Fry and Grill inside the acropolis has some surprisingly great food. The Pork Chops, Steak, Chicken are all recommended.

Dok was cool for a warm up drink --- only place i found to have Jameson Whiskey. In case you don't know -- Jameson shots should start every night out.

Loft -- was off the hook on Friday night. I imagine it depends on the DJ, but luckily it was ridiculous. It was as if i walked into a model party, simply amazing. NYC prices, but i'm used to it and it was well worth it. Great vibe and it will totally change your presupposed perception of domincan women in general. Most of the women were fairly tall, fair to light skinned, light eyes..just gorgeous...Felt like an awesome invite-only NYC party.

ZIN - Extremely nice place with a great vibe. Really expensive imported drinks, but great vibe. Young 20s crowd and decent music. I really liked this place to warm up.

Praia -- looked good from the outside but i saw a few ppl walk in and come right out and this was around 10:30.

***Disclaimer -- We were a group of mid to late 20 something guys traveling from NYC. I was in Sto. Domingo for Friday and Saturday night only and considering everything shuts down at 2am, it's really hard to stay at one place all night if there isn't a good party vibe once you walk in***

That being said, it may have been good, but at 10:30 - 11 it was dead.:ermm:

Red Room -- Great music, the dude was spinning good deep house tracks. But there was absolutely no one there at 11.

Don't remember the name but there is a cool and packed restaurant next to the Red Room that looked lively and fun.

Tonic -- Awesome party with good music. Mix of crowd both younger and older. Loft had WAY more women, but tonic had a good party vibe and nice decor.

Zona Colonial -- I walked through "el conde" during the day. I didn't know where to go but basically up and down that main street. I didn't see or hear anything that impressed me by way or bar, restaurant, shops even architecture. But that's just me. I've been to both Quito, Ecuador and San Jose in Costa Rica, and their colonial cities appeared a lot nicer and more culturally inspired.

I've heard of places called NoWhere and SegaFreddo, but had no idea where they were. I've asked a few ppl and they didn't even know either..:ermm:

where are those places ?

I'd like to thank all the ppl who helped me make this trip as memorable as it was. Specifically, DAKRA and DavidZ. DavidZ's suggestions were really on point. I've read another post by El_Uruaguyano, and it appears the places he recommended would fit my liking as well.

I sure wish i had more time to choose more places to go, but i didn't.

My own recommendations for my next trip: Get a cell phone. Either, rent a car/ hire a driver/ get a few taxistas on the above cell phone who i can rely upon. If someone could get my a topographical view of St. Domingo's clubs it would make it easier to navigate on my own. The taxi drivers are older and some had no idea of the above places.

any questions ?

Sounds like you had a blast! - Glad that all went well for you. I am on the way there this weekend and will post my report upon returning home. I too have big plans for seeing the sites and having a good time. I just hope that I don't get "Blown" away by the pending storm. :bored:

DAKRA, did I understand it correctly you were coming to Punta Cana first, then going on to SDQ?
If so, stop by in Higuey for a cold Presidente.

PM me if you're interested.

I recommend Fry and Grill also. Had a great dinner over there at reasonable prices (for Accropolis that is). Service was good, beer was very cold and food was great.

FYI - Zona Colonial is full of bars, but lots of them are kind of hidden.
