Fire razes beleaguered hotel
Puerto Plata.- A fire has destroyed several parts of the Hotel Bah?a Principe in R?o San Juan, according to local media. This is the same hotel that suffered the recent outbreak of Norovirus, affecting some 200 tourists and generating national and international coverage.
The events and conventions area of the hotel, which is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic were completely destroyed by the blaze. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Fire trucks from Gaspar Hern?ndez, Sos?a, Nagua and other areas fought the fire for several hours to prevent it from spreading to the rest of the hotel.
The hotel management has decided to close the hotel for repairs for a month. It will also be carrying out an investigation into the causes of the fire.
