Guess no one was on that late at night Whirleybird.

What type FTA receiver do you have?

Normally it's just the first byte that is wrong when the receiver gets the keys on autoroll. If you have a Pansat 2500, just the left half of the first byte is wrong, and is usually corrected by adding or subtracting 8 to the left digit. The Coolsat 4000 has the entire first byte wrong, so it would take more playing to find the correct byte.

What I do is turn on autoroll, let it get the key, turn autoroll off, then change the first byte to the correct value, lots easier then entering the entire key.

As stated, the Pansat 2500 is easy to correct the autoroll error.

Try dssfeedback next time also for the keys.

I just checked my Pansat 2500, this time the left half of the first byte was only off by 4, it showed a E6 and the correct value was 26.

Still very easy to correct by trial and error.

Whereas the Coolsat 4000 shows a 65 as first byte, I will have to watch for the next change and see if the correction is a matter of sliding the 6 over to the right and then correcting the left half with trial and error.

The apartment where I am going to be living has DishNetwork included in the rent, but I need a satellite receiver. Can I buy one in Canada?

Thanks for your help this morning. It says its a Viewsat 2500 on the box... sorry, I am not very technical but my 'other half' knew what you meant. TVkeyz.com was back up online by time we got up!! But it was the 26 you mentioned which we needed to change.

Not sure if ViewSat made a 2500, could you have meant PanSat 2500?

If so, they don't seem to be making new files for the PanSat 2500 FTA receiver.
Some are converting them to PanSat 2700, but that is quite technical to do.

The bin number is related to your particular brand of FTA receiver.

If you are getting black screen with program header, the bin file has not auto-rolled and you need to check your manufactures web site for the latest bin file.

If not available, you can enter the keys manually. The current working keys @ 22:00 hrs eastern time are:

Dish00(89) :A9D614D4752280A1910D8A7E1A39C33B
Dish01 (96):91F28B6A05BAAC5466F720CECC8B19DC

If you need to manually update keys, do a Goodle for :KeyUpdate 8.3.8 and download progy.

Good look:pirate:
