How to translate these phrases?

I am at a loss, either how to say it in english or even how to explain it.

When someone asks me "porque"? I can reply in two ways- "porque si" or "porque no".

Do these phrases translate at all into english?

porque si" or "porque no" translates as " Because that's just the way it is."

I agree with the above . I find it useful to split words down to find out meanings, hence porque = for what.

You got the answer already. I just would like to add the following:

Why? = ?Por qu?? (It should be written as two words; accentuated.)
because = porque (one word, no accent mark)
