Heya,
Does anyone here on the boards know how the body shops estimate the vehicles?
Are they using a computer system like we do here in NA? Does anyone know what system it is?
They have a much better system than in NA... if it's
your car and you come from NA... it will cost at least 3 times as much.
If on top of that, you don't speak fluently Spanish, for that price you will only get half of the job done... maybe.
On a more serious note (but not to say that above is not true):
Insurance companies work with some shops (not the best) and will deal out an estimate with them, that's about the lowest price.
One can get very good repairs for little money and you will be surprised what some still can beat out'a warped piece of sheet metal! I've seen some excellent body and paint work here... some really bad ones too.
Expensive , fancy looking places are not always better.
When buying a car, availability of parts is very important. I have a Toyota Hilux and a new door is just a little over USD 150.oo ! That's way cheaper than banging on it for the better part of a week!
