Hello all.
We've visited Cabarete few weeks ago and absolutely loved it.
We're planning to come back in January but are wary of holiday crowds.
What would be the earliest time in Jan one should visit and avoid the holiday rush?
Thanks.

Christmas to Easter is high season and it will be quite busy any time between.

We were told that Nov/Dec you have to call in advance to get a table to eat. Is that still the situation in 2nd/3rd week of Jan?

Except for a few long holiday weekends - Semana Santa, New Years, it's seldom uncomfortably crowded. As for January, arrive on the 2nd and you'll find it's not bad.

If you can get a hotel room, you can find food. What restaurant said to call ahead for a reservation? Unless you have a large group or it's a very small restaurant - that shouldn't be an issue. Or are you talking about getting into an all-inclusive's non-buffet restaurant?
