I just went to Montellano and back.
There is very little public transport.
I may have seen a total of 8 guaguas in the return trip, and no public cars.
There are no problems on the highway, nor any evidence of a strike.

I got a call yesterday from people out of La Union, asking me if there was a strike going on (yesterday) in Puerto Plata(!). I answered that no, that it was scheduled for the next day (today) and asked why the question. Well, they had heard that the police was arming up to the teeth.
I would not be surprised to see El Tablon protest groups using the "National" strike to voice their issues in and around Sosua.
