How safe are you deposits in Banco Central ?

What are the current % rates ?

Do they offer different rates deoending for how long you leave your money in ?

The latest sale of CDs provided interest up to about 14% (Not perfectly certain as to the exact rate) for five year CDs. Again, I am not totally sure of the data. Sorry.

I do remember that it was the first time that CDs were placed for such long periods of time and that the interest was 'attractive'...

Wish I could be more accurate. It was in DR1 News about three weeks ago....

Safe by Dominican standards.
Nothing's 100% safe in this world.
Are you still in the DR, or in China?

My two cents worth..... If any country or bank is paying well above nominal standard worldwide rates...be careful...there is a reason they are doing so.. It is called RISK....@14% interest.. I imagine the risk is high.. paying tooo much interest for idle money. The peso is now 33+ (USD) perhaps it will be 38-40 pesos=$1.00 USD in 8 months....what have you gained ...nothing...you have actuall lost..be careful..

I am thinking of moving all my money out of the U.s. and into B.C. after my income tax woes who needs it. After I pay my 6,000 tax bill. Next year I will have to pay 30 % on the 6,000 i took out of my mutual fund to pay the tax bill. Capicua.
