Le Papillon restaurant is off the main road near Cofresi but off the mountain side of the road, not the sea side (approx 3 miles out of Puerto Plata & 150 yards before you turn right into Cofresi, it is up a turn to the left). I think the sign is for Los Dos (another restaurant) & Villas Cofresi. Owner is a German Expat Thomas Ackerman. They do have turtles in glass tanks there but I wouldn't call it a sanctuary. I think tel. no is 809-970-7640 but check it in the book. Thomas speaks English, German & Spanish.
