What are the hottest discos in Santiago right now? Along the lines of Mangus, or Classicos & Latinos in Sosua...

And street names if you know them, but we'll have a local driver, so should be easy to locate them...
thanks

Some of the more popular places in Santigo are Tipico Monte Bar located on Av. Febrero 27 in the las Colinas section of town. Also there are several around the Monumento like Montezuma and Myst. Dizzy Ranch is also nice, but I'm not sure on which street its located. If like Classico's in Sosua you are looking for company for the night there's Pasions which is off the autopista towards the airport.

What kind of music are those two places? I'm looking for music similar to Classicos & latinos....

Not looking for companionship, I'll be with mi novia....:ermm:

Thanks

dizzy ranch and Tipico Monte Bar, dont play near as much (if any) reggarone, as Classicos. There are two real discos that play to the younger hip crowd. ZOOM on feb 27( in a small strip mall)...on right heading downtown. It is small though.
And DOLCE it is on Duarte also heading downtown and on the right in another strip mall, but this one has two levels and the disco is upstairs in the back. There is a large american fast food chain outlet in there...cant remember which company it is though at the moment.

you dont have to be in the need for a temporary girlfriend to go to PASSIONS or ILLUSIONS( new owner now). they both act like regular dance club-discos most of the time when they have a DJ playing. the place is loaded with singles (men and women) and groups who come to drink and dance and ignore the working girls. You would be amazed at the amount of women who come together in groups there!!!! wanting to meet men and get asked to dance.

good luck

Tribecca is a small but nice place to take your girl. I would also recomend the discotec behind the big Casino (I can not recall the name of it). It stays open until 4am.

I have only been to tribecca once....it was alittle more upscale( not much) than most clubs there....but almost no dancing.....just people hanging out ...decent music....but the dancing was more spontaneous, than on a dance floor.......it was a lot like Francifol, but no band...

it you want to dance...youd be better off someplace else. I think

Hmm, the times that I have been there, everyone was dancing. I would stay away from One Way. A lot of women, but a lot of Tigres there too. There is alway policia there to break something up.

What kind of a crowd would you find at el Tipico monter bar? I went to this disco once , I think it was called, la Admistad in Santiago ...and I was surprised to see little kids there? Don't discos in DR have an age limit?

Would you recommend Passions for a couple,??? I heard there's always some "lios" of some sort going on there.

Easiest question ever......

Ask AZB and your question WILL be answered.

Just know that if you like chopas/os, he WILL send you to those discos he doesn't go to.....Something about him not liking foreigners messing Santiago up....And that's not a joke!.

I go to tipico monte bar often enough to answer.
I think the crowd is mostly 25 and over..i see plenty of couples in their 30's there. but i do see a few people in their mid 20's for sure..

it is almost all Mergenge, Bachata, and some salsa..once in a while..very rarely they throw in some reagatone when the DJ is playing..maybe 5 songs on some nights.

When there has been named acts playing at Pasions and I have been in town I have taken my GF .HER MOTHER and some cousins there. Even when they had a dancer doing a solo up on the dance floor she was taking people out of the audience to get them in her act...and almost everyone was on their feet making sure they saw what she was doing to the guy!!! they all got some laughs..even though she took her clothes off...

I thought it strange....but the place was packed!!!!! at least 60% women!!!!!!!!!!!!

now they do once in a while have the girls get up and do some solo dances on the pole in the dancefloor.. and they do take their clothes off...so if that bothers your GF..dont go..

butb it amounts to maybe 5% of the night....the rest is all the patrons dancing!!!!
Ilusions was the same way.

good luck

passion is a whore house but chopo couples do go there for evening entertainment, example: live musical concert. They do have famous group perform there from time to time. The people who go to passion are dominican york, visiting foreigners, drug dealers and other low life tigres with money.

By the way, lots of free-lance hookers also go to passion, illusion etc. usually the barrio folks would take their girlfriends to places like these. The decent Domincians would never even venture close to these establishments.
My current girlfriend was invited by her close friend who was asked out by a dominican york on a date. Since she didn't know the guy well, she asked my GF out for the evening. I was out of country and she had called me in atlanta to ask for my permission. I saw nothing wrong with the idea. So she went out with her friend to dance with the guy. On the way to disco the guy says that he has to pick up his niece from work and drop her off home. They didn't think anything of it so off they went to pick her up. To their shock, he was heading to passion club to pick up his hooker niece. The girls couldn't believe what they were seeing. The girls were scared still in car as the hooker came to the car to join them. The guy thought it was funny. needless to say, this was his last date with the girl. the girls didn't feel comfortable and asked him to take them home. I was very upset at the whole event and told my GF to sever contacts with the girl who asked her out with this filthy man.
This is how the decent dominicans feel about dominicans taking their women to passion.

Perdidos en el espacio.....

And I suppose you think Jose lima is a religious god fearing dominican? hahahaha.
Wahahahahahaha!!.

Shyt, I don't live in Santiago and I know about Passion's reputation!!.

It's an insult to compare Lima with anything good in the DR!!....MOST decent Dominicans stay away from that guy!.

Amazing!!.

La Amistad? Is that the tipico in Tamboril with a pool? Anyway, skip Pasions, I don't recommend it for a couple outing. There are many other nice establishments with music and dancing. There's a club right next to the Hotel Matum where the waiters and bartenders dress up as Monks, I can't remember the name. They have a dress code (Men with collared shirts) which is good to keep out the baseball cap tigres. I would rather take my girl to Mist on Restaurcion near the corner of Tollentino than to a whorehouse with cabanas in the back.
