COMO IDENTIFICAR A UN CHOPO.

1. Si diciendo numeros telefonicos usas PAR DE # en vez de
el numero como tal. Ejemplo: 672-4490, Seis Siete Dos, PAR DE
CUATRO, noventa. ?ERES UN CHOPO!

2. Si cuando te rascas un oido haces un ruido similar al de un marrano...
?ERES UN CHOPO!

3. Si eres un raver y andas con un t-shirt de G-UNIT o al reves, un rapero, y andas
con un t-shirt con unas letrasas grandes. ?Eres chopo!

4. ?Llegaste a bailar SOPA DE CARACOL cuando carajito? ?ERES UN CHOPO!

5. Si andas con los vidrios arriba y al llegar al parqueo de la universidad los bajas
para que los demas oigan tu trapo de musica. ?ERES UN CHOPASO! (Y si andas con los
vidros abajo paseandote por las calles con un music?n tambien lo eres).

6. Si vas a todos los bonches y crees que Jimmy Bauer es DJ. ?ERES UN MALDITO CHOPO!

7. Si has visto a 'LA NOCHE CON YORYI' por mas de 1 minuto... ?ERES UN ULTRA-CHOPO!

In the DR, mega-diva means the ultra-glamorous celebrity beauties, usually TV presenters. They are a bit lurid but I'm sure MQ meant it as a compliment. :D

It's how the taxi company switchboard guys speak. In the capital they say "PAL de siete' which is even worse.

Great list TD. Love # 9...BTW this a description of many of the so called non-chopos some people in here hang out with. They won't dance Merengue or Bachata or drink Presidente because that's "Chopo"...Instead they prefer "roc an rol" and drink "Mile" because that makes them look "cuul"...

In Australia and the UK its very common to read a phone number like 54-33-53 as 54 - double-3 - 53.

I'm not familiar with it being said that way in English, but it's not that it's totally unacceptable, insomuch as it's a chopo way of saying it, in Spanish.

Although it is kinda funny when you first read it, I figured out that I do some things of the list above and I dont consider myself Chopo. I even think the use of the word chopo is lame at best. For one thing i dont suit up like a "Jou" but calling them "chopo" just because most of them comes from the guettos in Santo Domingo is classist and offensive...I call myself guilty of number 21 and 23 and I believe those are part of the Dominican culture, I have less respect of people who thinks they are europeans negating his/her identity and favoring other countries cultures when they are in DR but whenever they leave the country (which I doubt) takes pride of all that stuff mentioned above...

as the frase says it "Nadie mea perfume ni caga bizcochito, to' el mundo jiede cuando se muere"
