What's up DR1 family. I have a friend you works as a receptionist for one of those timeshare companies located inside of an all inclusive resort. She states that she is paid rd 12000 every month. She is 29 no children and lives at home with her family. she states that she wants to move out but is unable to because of money. I think rd 12000 translates to $363 usd. I'm assuming that there are apartments for $150 usd or less. What i'm asking is in Puerto Plata is it impossible for someone making rd 12000 to find a place? Is more money needed? Of course that person will have to budget themselves. Wondering if one, she is lying about her income. Two, maybe is is not responsible with her money. I need to know these things before i invest any serious time in getting to know her on a different level. Not very familiar with the prices of apartments or salaries in puerto Plata dominican Rep.

Ask her how much does she have in the bank, does she save any money? If she's spending RD$12,000 per month to live, then of course it's going to be hard to move.

She's needs RD$4-6000 for a place, 50% of her salary.
Could you afford to pay 50% of your salary per month on rent, plus utilities?

I know plenty of people with families living on less. It may be that she doesn't want to lower her standard of living compared to where she is living now. BTW, a decent to nice apt/bottom floor of a house can be found here in Santiago for RD6k and up(w/in 10/15 min of downtown). For RD3k to 4k expect a metal roof house or a small conc. studio apt.. Anything less won't be very pretty for sure - yet many if not the majority Doms live like this.

Just a thought. Could she be telling you that she doesn't have the money, thinking that you may be her knight in shining armor and come to her rescue?

Is she living at home looking after her parents? This is often the case for most Dominican people. If that is the case, then it would be very difficult for her to move out. Dominicans need everyone at home with jobs to pay the bills. Life is not cheap for them. Most apts need electricity, etc at an added cost. This would not leave much for food, etc.

The salary sounds about right. YEs it is very possible to live on your own with that amount of money. It all depends on what she is looking for!

And it depends on her motivation. She may very well see you as her knight in shining armour...... So then it depends on what you want!

She can get a "room" with a private bathroom for as little as 1,500 RD here in Puerto Plata. There are many apartments, usually 1 bedroom (unfurnished) for 3,000RD and up! For 3,000RD it would be a small apt, the prices go up depending on size and location.

Wake Up And Smell The "Cafe Dominicano" My Friend!!!

If this "Novia" is the same person you have spoken of in some of your previous posts, DROP HER,like a "Batata Caliente"!

If I had a "Peso" for every sexy young Dominicana who asked me form money to mov to her own apartment,I could retire a "Millionario" yesterday!

You are confusing "LUST", with "Love"! "Lust" is available on every stretcorner in the DR.LOVE is like finding "Tits on a Boar"!

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt,and even sent the postcard home!!! Toooooo many times!!!

I suggest you adopt my "Method" ,or something similar!
"Sport Sex" is a great "Pasa Tiempo"! Soooooooooooooooo
find a few poor, but sexy,( young Dominicanas. If they have a baby or two to support, (a "Gift" of a Dominicano, who loves to "sow" his "seed" but not be responsible for the "harvest!) you can pay about 400 pesos per "session" and they will be ever so "grateful'!.("Leche" Y "Pamper)

If you are looking for Emotional "Love",you ain't going to find it from a Dominicana who has you,and most likely "others", that she is "screwing"when you are not here, and "scamming" when you are!

ANY Dominicana who has a"Laundry List" of "Needs" that she wants you,and lots of other "Johns", to fill is just another "Money Pit"! Believe me,you can get lots of GREAT PU$$Y" in the DR,without "Buying The Cow"!!
Just give them a little "Food" once in a while!

Several years ago,a friend of mine who also lives here, decided we would give the "Girls" 300 pesos for sex. Well, one girls said that we were "Cheap",but "Not Stupid"!!
I would much rater be called "Cheap", than "Stupid"!!

When the peso went to 56 to 1 a couple of years ago,I went to "400 A POP"! Now I wish I had stayed at "300"!

PS: I still get several calls a day from pretty young gils who want to "Humor" an "Old Man",for 400 pesos!

tell her you are going to move to POP and want her to live with you. she may then say that she can't leave her aging parents who need her help. then again, my sister in law, just got her first apartment, first time in her life not living with blood relatives, at the ripe young age of 39................then again, it is OK for men in the US to "play the field" with anything willing 24/7 - 365, but then they get married and become saints. why the double standard? i sold time share and know the biz well, receptionists better look good, this being the DR, i bet this chick is smoking hot.....................

Thanks for the responses. Many of you don't realize just how helpful this site is. Whenever you deal with others from another country you are at an disadvantage because one might not understand the values and the traditions of that country, but thanks to this site it fills in the gaps for the lack of experience and knowledge. The young lady I am speaking of has me confused. She's 29 and yet she has a curfew. Her parents are very over protective.
When we would hang out her mother or father would call often. I spoke to her mother and her mother was explaining to me that Puerto Plata can be dangerous in the night time. It might be true but damn! One time I was driving her home and I popped a tire. So I have to get out of the car to change the tire. Next thing I know her phone rings and she is hailing a motorconho to go home saying her parents are at the front door waiting. She left me all alone. I mean i'm a big boy but a little support in a different counrty would have been nice. No big deal.
I like the girl I must admit but I'm not so head over heels that i have forget about common sense. Certain things cause me to be hesistant. One, the girl loves clothes. What woman doesn't. Many Dominicans sell clothes at her job and she got herself in $600usd debt between two people. She also borrowed money from the loan shark at the job because her niece needed medical attention and they had to take her to santo domingo to be treated. She never asked me to help her with that debt. She said that is the reason why she dosen't have any money in the bank. I spoke to the niece. She is 7yrs old and is not in school because of the illness. That much I believe.
I told her I would help her get her debt down. I send like 40usd a week. I know it's not much but why should I just pay the entire amount off? It won't help her to be responsible.
she wanted me to help her get an apartment. She said it will be better when I come down because her family wouldn't stress her because she wouldn't be living in there house. I said okay i will help then I found out that the apartment she found was rd9000and asked if i could pay half as well as the two or three months security deposit plus help her pay her debt down and a little spending money.
Too much for me. Eventhough i may have the money I've only known her for a month. One year, two years no problems it would be a different story. she's beautiful and I don't believe she is totally bad. Everyone I ask say she is a chica seria. Even woman who had interest in me told me she was a good person. Some rich, but old casino owner wanted her, but she declined because she wasn't attracted to him. All of her co-workers told her she was crazy because he is rich. She didn't care. She said how can you be with someone you have no attraction to. Also her ex boyfriend wants to get back with her and he was taking care of her and says he will again, but she declined because she caught him with another woman.
Thanks for listening. Can't talk to my boy's cause they don't give a ****(smile). They don't understand the counrty of D.R. I'll just take my time. In time all mysterious are revealed. I turned down getting the apartment and she seemed to be upset. I will watch how she acts now and learn what her true intentions are.
fellows I'm 37 no children african american male fairly good looking. speak enough spanish to get by. There is just no reason to ever have to pay for the p%&*y. I have to literally beat them away. Now some are in it for the money, but really just want to get married and have a decent life. The key I'm learning is to learn how to tell who is who, and that's what i have you guys for. Okay, I'm going to make a sandwich.

Been there done that... agree with CC run, take the first plane out...!!!

Ex Boyfriend? He'll be back. Trust me.
Casino owner? She is just playing "serious" and is a "cuero" when you turn your back.
3 months deposit? Wow she wants a lot
Chica seria? In the DR, out of 10 maybe 1 is "seria". 1 is weird but maybe OK, 3 are in "strange behavior" (coro raro), 3 are part-time cueros and will "play" with anybody and have lots of "friends", and 2 are full time cueros

I got my own experiences. When one of the "ex girlfriends" asked me to buy a "juego de habitacion" after just knowing her for 5 weeks, I dumped her on the spot.

I learned hard lessons and it had cost me $$$. Take the advise and save the buck.
