I pay 200kwh@3.12 then 100kw@4.71 and the rest at RD$7
How does that rate with others?

For comparisons sake, here in Costa del Sol Spain:
In june this year I paid for 700 kwh a total of 77 euros - this is equivalent to 3388 RD$ at an exchange rate of 44 pesos to 1 euro.
Bryanell would have paid 3895 RD$
With the contract cost of 10.44 and equipment hire of 1.14 euros (plus IVA[VAT]) the cost for 2 months usage of 710 kwh was a total of 91.86 euros.
If Bryanell's figures exclude all the overheads then the cost looks something like 15% more in the DR than in Spain.

as eveybody knows in DR

you have to figure the voltage stabilizer amount.
+plus the converter charger
+ change your batteries every 4 years.

Add also when you have 70, 85 volts your meters runs the same than 120

Have in mind when you use 100 watts with inversor you get 65 at the end (criollo)

Private Electric Co. in Samana

My last month electric bill was @13.25 pesos for 538 KWh = $7,128.50. Luz y Fuerza of Las Terrenas/Las Galeras has a rate of 13.75 peso for >700 KWh (residential). This rate is appilcable for the first watt used. Service is good lately. No outages. Therefore, I do not use my inverter or Genset. I do not expect the rate to decrease in the next few months, and will not be surprised to see 14.00=/KWh soon, due to fuel prices. Diesel is their major fuel source, which continues to increase dramatically. Wind Power will not decrease rates to consumers, as state by management of Luz y Fuerza a couple of months ago. Luz y Fuerza prices itself a bit cheaper than operating your own generator. ;)

What I am trying to do is compare my old bills (from 3 years ago) to the price paid now. y electric is included in my rent now. So I want to figure out how much the electric has gone up in that time so the landlord can't say that I am using too much electric.
My old bill was about 200 to 300 pesos a month. When I check it out I'll let you know the difference.
