can't we all just get along?

I think arcoiris' post is a positive one, and I don't understand the negativity of the responses. Can you please explain the reason for the negativity?

I am glad to hear from Dr. Holbrook. I wanted to ask him especially what he thinks of the project. Dr., do you know any more of the details of the project? I mean from the Dominican perspective. You are right that it is a progression of advancement from the earliest invention of the telephone when guidance was given to amateurs in emergency cases, with newer technologies as we go along. What do you think and how do you feel about this liaison?

Arcoiris,

You come back to this board with a post under your real name, and then when someone disagrees with you, you repost under one of your known aliases and reply to yourself for support. That's not only childish, it's what got you banned in the first place. Give it a rest, lady.

1. Every technology that increases the chances for a patient to

full recovery is naturally positive. As oppesed to quite

many 'by need enforced' medicine development projects, I

see little or no possibility for 'adverse reaction effects'

in remote consulting, as long as the remote consultant

realizes and acknowledges that the local physician often

has a better clinical case knowledge. (Patient history

etc.) As with every advanced technology, especially

considering the DR situation, it should however be used

as a complement and educational tool, rather than an

institutionalized every-day method - we don't want to

do cardial surgery, putting the patients life at the

stake of a possibly failing phone line.

2. Correcting errors/assisting clear-up of misconceptions

and/or misunderstandings is good. It can, however, be done

in different manners. I mostly find it quite useless to

get unduly upset over board-postings or members. Medically

speaking, such a reaction boosts the adrenaline production,

without any real adequate method of 'blowing off the steam'.

That amounts to the real harmful stress-situation, known to

adversely affect heart, and promote infarct probability.

Add a few cigarettes, some fast-food, and the technology

under debate might become REALLY desireable...

You have a high opinion of yourself luv, are you a graduaye engineer or just someone who reads a story and relates his knowledge?

High opinion?

Don't see where you got that from. Because I mostly try to give
balanced views, as correct information as I have at hand and try
to refrain from personal insults? If you have informative
corrections to any of my postings, I'd be more than happy, and
post an apology for false/misunderstood/old info I might have
forwarded.

Nope, I'm not a 'graduyae' engineer, whatever
that is supposed to mean. I graduated Msc 1981 in theoretical
and applied physics, mathematics and chemics. On top of that,
I minored in Psychology and clinical medicine. In the 19 years
that passed, I also have taken on any occation to improve and
increase my factual knowledge in almost any area of interest
at the time - linguistics, informatics, electronics,
microbiology. It's quite clear that with that wide spread, I
certainly must have misunderstood some, and might fail in my
intention to provide correct or at least useful answers to
questions posted on this board. I'm not infailable, and don't
know of anyone now living that is.

Nevertheless, as anyone can notice, my e-mail address is NOT
a 'hotmail' or any other anonymous web-account. Because of this,
I'd suggest that comments of personal nature, that is not
of general interest, be e-mailed directly to me, rather than
posted on this board. (Maybe we should set up a thread like
'my opinion about other posters', in order to get the 'real
questions' threads cleansed of irrelevant postings...)

Quite a background. It sounds as if I could put you in the right seat of a twin turbine and have you punching holes in the clouds very quickly :)
