I received an e-mail from someone who had seen my DR photos on Flickr.

He said
[I am a] "NY photographer who is going to stay in DR soon in order to do some underwater portraits and other project that I do have in Rio San Juan.

It looks like you do know well Cabarete area which is not far from Rio San Juan but where I haven't been yet. I wondered if you could tell me where i could find a good surfing spot (not kite but just surf) as well as if you do know any model agencies in the area.

I've never used an agency and although I know there is a surf beach about 2km outside the town, I wouldn't know how to find it. Anyone got any advice thet I can pass on to a fellow photographer (other than visit Dr1 forums, which I've already passed on!)

Surf Beach

About 8 mins out of Cabarete towards Sosua after perhaps a mile of undeveloped land you will see a big development on your RHS. Turn right and follow the narrow road for 5 mins down to the beach. It's called Playa Encuentro. There is a surf club and bar there.
