Should I book the Hotel in Santiago in advance?

We will be in Santiago for one night, January 11, 2008. This is a Friday, so should we reserve a room, or just wing it?
Thinking about Aloha Sol or Platino. Any advice?

reserve it, these hotels sometimes have groups reserving blocks of rooms at a time, I wouldn't risk it.

Thanks guys. That's what I thought. I will give both a call this afternoon. Our flight leaves early on Saturday morning. It would be a shame if we had to sleep at the airport the night before.
My trip is not for a couple of weeks, but I will give a report when I'm back.
The advice is much appreciated!

I would like to know the cheapest way to get to there from Kentucky. There are 4 of us going on a trip in July., Can't find less than 680.00 plus 13 hour layover. Any good airlines or other places to fly out of?

Try to get something from Spirit to Santo Domingo.
Or Jet Blue to Santiago

these are the two cheapest.

How you get to one of those hubs is not on my hard disc.

I don't know what part of Kentucky you are in, but if you can't find a flight out of there I would drive the 3-5 hours to a neighbor state and fly out from there. I have some friends that flew Delta (Atlanta to Santo Domingo) cheaper than Jet Blue.

looking for some place cheap to stay in Santiago Dec 30th to Jan 5th. I don't need meals. just some place relatively quiet and clean. Any suggestions.
