Wanted: Dominican Judaica

This is a call for artefacts/stories from Jewish refugees welcomed to the North Coast of the Dominican Republic during WWII.

Allen Wells Book

The current authority is Allen Wells a history professor at Bowdoin. His upcoming book is "Tropical Zion: General Trujillo, Franklin Roosevelt and the Jews of Sosua."
His father was one of the Jewish settlers in Sosua. Wells daughter is a friend of my wife.

Museum

The Jewish Museum in Sosua is an excellent source of info on early settlers and still enjoys an active membership.
