Cable Car ????

Is the cable car open to the public yet and can anyone comment about the restaurant, shops, etc. at the top??????

Hola Lynda, Been told that it has been in operation and open to the public. Will be heading out next week to POP so will check it out for you.

The fundicular (cable car) is up and running in Puerta Plata. It looks great and I am told that it costs $100DR for one way. The view is more than spectacular and well worth the ride. I am pretty sure I could see Florida from up there! It is open every day except wednesday and is definately worth the visit. I predict it will be a must see for tourists and locals alike.
