I'd like to do a little fishing while I'm in Boca Chica in January but don't want to an expensive charter. I'm bringing some basic light saltwater gear, is it possible to fish off the beach or better yet get one on the locals to take you out for a few hours in the small open boats for reasonable $. I would be happy with some barracuda, jacks or better snook or bonefish. I also heard you can rent a boat but it would probably be better to go with someone that knows what's going on. Any guesses what I should pay to rent a boat or hire someone to take me out. I've done this in Mexico quite a bit and they are usually happy to take you out for a few hours for $100.
