My two cents worth. Morua Mai is consistently good with good service and nice presentation. For two dinners with salads, martinis, and a glass of wine for dinner, the cost averages about 2,000 pesos with our tip.
La Finca is a bit more sophisticated. Sauces are exquisite. Service is excellent. The soups are nice. The price is a bit more. We ate there a few days ago, had soup, dinner, a bottle of decent wine. The bill was about 3,400.
Joseph's was a huge disappointment to us. They advertise steak, but in our estimation, it was only fair. The fish my husband had was good, but was it the best? No. I forget the cost of the meal, but it was more expensive than Morua Mai and La Finca. The one thing they did exceptionally well was the little appetizer that came with our cocktail. It was garlic parsley that I think was crispy fried. I have never had anything like this before. I still dream about it.
I don't know Restaurant El Batey, but I will go there this week. And I don't know the lobster restaurant that was referred to, but I will also try that within a week.
For good, reasonable, home cooking, you can't go wrong with Rocky's- breakfast through dinner!
Any other restaurant recommendations from others would be welcome. We will try them all and report back!
