fishing in dominican republic

i'll be traveling to DR for the first time this winter and am interrested in the shallowater fishing{bonefish tarpon snook etc} that exists if it does...any info would be appreciated as well as contacts there...thanks....ifish..rick heim

Fly fishing is best in Hatillo Dam, Rinc?n Dam, Ozama River, Chav?n River, Higuamo River (San Pedro de Macor?s), or near Saona Island (Palmilla). That last one is probably your best bet. Stay in one of the Dominicus Beach area resorts and hire a boat in Bayahibe (RD$1,400 for six hours). If there's a full moon you lucked out. Go early in the morning at 6-9 am.
