Can any one give me any info on what this hotel is like. Is there much prostitution going on here or is it more conservitive. I ask becuase I older freind of mine is wonting to take his wife here and asked me to get some info for him first. If any one has stayed here or knows what it is like please let me know.

Yes, there is prostitution there, but it certainly isn't blatant. If you are observant, you might notice the following:

Male guest leaves hotel solo in the evening.

Sometime (15 minutes to several hours) later, male guest returns accompanied by young lady. They go to male guest's room.

Sometime (15 minutes to next morning) later, young lady leaves hotel solo. (If male guest is a gentleman, he escorts young lady to the gate and arranges a motorbike taxi for her.)

You won't see much of anything in the public areas of the hotel, as management keeps a close rein on that sort of thing.

If the sight of people coming to and leaving the hotel is scandalous to your friends then they should stay away.

If they are the least bit sophisticated or worldly, it is considered one of the best non-AI places to stay in BC, with pool, restaurant, etc. etc.

its boca chica....so of course there is prostitution going on. BUt as Victor says...its not run like a frat house like other hotels in BC.

I have seen families stay there and one time even a religious group and married couples. But there are definitely Chica Chasers there...some discrete some not.

agree. you won't see the "almost no clothes on" type chicas coming and going from the candil. management will caution you on your activities (i've seen this a few times). i wouldn't worry too much about this....

Does anyone know the status of the construction next door? When I was last there (as a satisfied return guest) a construction project was just starting- a parking garage, I think. It was pretty loud during the day.

Any updates?

I took photos in November of the beginning of the first floor then darn.... forgot to take pics in Novmeber. OHHHH well going back in late Feb so I will see then hehe Love this hotel to the OP my mother and I stayed there!! Like jrzyguy says it BC so of course all the small hotels are full of chica chasers!!! Go with an open mind and you will have a great time!! Counting the days til Im back!!!

why do people worry about prostitution unless they are planning to partake in it ? :ermm:

just go and have fun and you'll hardly notice....

well..there was ONE time i stayed at another hotel near by. I swear it was like a frat party. All these guys with there chicas and it was VERY rowdy. I dont mind guys having their fun...but I couldnt get any sleep!!! (take the damn party to calle duarte! and i had a friend of mine visit from santo domingo and he was mortified. It was a horrible experience...there was a big party right outside my window every night and when you walked in all the guys had chicas on their laps. Kinda cheapened the experience. THat hotel has since cleaned up things tho.

Candil is NOT like that at all tho. Just saying..i can see why somoene wouldnt want THAT kind of environment.

el candil

The man who asked me to find out about this place is an older gentleman that wonts to take his wife here. I can uderstand why he would not like to be around
guys that are chasing chicas. Who knows maybe it would be difirent if his wife was not with him.LOL:cheeky:

I've seen many married couples and even familes stay there. LIke kyle said..candil tends to run a tight ship.

I think one should have an open mind while staying in B.C. or other similar towns. Sounds like they might like a hotel like the Don Juan. I have never stayed there but for a smaller AI it looks pretty decent...and there wont be any shenagins there.

Noy true. I was at don juan for a week in november and there was many chicas at the disco and on resort property at night. The only thing that bothers me about them is that some dont take no for an answer. I dont pay for girls. At least I dont yet. If I am not maried when I am an old man I may have to.LOL

really frisky ? *making a note about chicas at Don Juan*

seriously, though i've seen the new manager (i forget her name) confront people at the el candil and once she put out a dominicana who had a room conducting business all times of day and night. i suspect she had a pimp.

again, i don't think the couple has anything to worry about...

As mentioned above the hotel is very quiet and more or less discreet with the chicas. The only downside your friends might not like is there is a chica casa right across the street from the gate. There are usually chicas sitting outside or at the bodega next door
