I'm coming home (to SD) in about 3 weeks and I'm planning to do a day trip to La Vega and Santiago (Puerto Plata/Sos?a and Ocean World will be on our next trip). What we (Mr. Sweden and I) have come up with is:
La Vega
- La Vega vieja
- Santo Cerro
- Templo Nuestra Se?ora de las Mercedes and el Santo Hoyo
- Catedral de La Vega
Santiago
- Monumento a los H?roes
- Catedral de Santiago Ap?stol
then our maybes:
- Estadio Cibao (just pictures of the outer facade)
- Centro Le?n (we're not too much into art museums)
- The Old City Hall Palace (where is it located?)
- Walk around Calle del Sol, maybe visit Plaza Internacional
I'd like to add visiting the ruins of old Santiago at Jacagua but only if it's worth seeing or if it's easy to get to by public means.
Is there anything else we might be missing in either city? We can spend the night in Santiago if needed.
