Who inspires you?

Here is a simple question for all you DR1ers. If you were to make a list of 5 Dominicans that inspire you, who would be on that list and why? I'm talking about people whose work, achievements or personalities you would consider inspiring. Famous Dominicans or just your regular "schmoes" can be included.

All of the employees in the DR that have to put up with some of the rude visitors to their country (my hats off to.....)

Luis Marino L?pez - business entrepreneur - fills me with admiration
Junot D?az, Julia Alvarez - literature - their success and recognition as well as their work makes me feel proud of my adopted country
Adriano Miguel Tejada - journalism - gives me hope and food for thought
Marcos D?az - swimmer - a star of my favourite sport
Rufino Herrera - campesino leader - an inspiration and an example

1. melky cabrera - what an amazing ball player with a great future!!!
2. juan bosch - i love his literature
3. oscar de la renta - i love his suits
4. maridalia hernandez - doesn't get enough media attention, has a great voice
5. guido perez - one of the best painters my country has ever produced

There are also some really smart AND ethical Dominicans posting on this site once in a while. I don't know their names, but continue learning from them. :glasses:

those four dudes from 101.3FM doing "el gobierno en la ma?ana" - for their sarcasm, sense of humour, for HDP, swearing at listeners and pretending to be asleep when others are talking.
and mostly for their passionate yet ironic approach to dominican affairs.
i wish i could understand more...

And some non-Dominicans here inspire me; one (and family) I have met, others I haven't yet.
