Insurance coverage on a borrowed vehicle?

If I owned a vehicle, in the DR, and lent it to a friend would they, generally, be covered under my insurance?

Here in Canada it's still fairly standard although you may enjoy slightly lower premiums if you restrict the age of the borrower to 21 or 25 for example.

Rocky and Ladybird are right, they insure the vehicle. As long as the person has a valid license, they should be covered.

Providing you have a valid visa (tourist) and you haven't overstayed.
The first thing most cops will do when filling out and accident report is ask for copies of you passport so they can see your entry stamp.

As per international agreements, national driver licenses are valid in other countries for 3 months/90 days from the entry date, ESPECIALLY if accompanied by international driver permit. Reentry starts counting again.
