Prices in Santiago

Hi

I have a few questions about shopping in Santiago. What are average prices for:
  1. a local meal....standard Dominican fare
  2. leather handbags..nothing too fancy, nice bag for casual days, work
  3. clothing...jeans for women, nice dresses

I will be there next for a week and would like to do some shopping but have no clue what prices are like..

If you eat at local spot like Nacional, El Encantro, or the dozens of local eateries, it will generally cost you about $150RD give or take, now if you want to eat in a nice sit down establishment of course it will cost you more.

Clothing, bags, jeans are expensive in comparison to the same merchandise bought in the US or Canada. Plus you run into the risk of buying a knockoff, not worth buying here if you have a choice.
