SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic?Canada's Barrick Gold Corp. will spend $2.6 billion to reopen a formerly state-owned mine in the Dominican Republic, the company and the Caribbean country's president said Wednesday.
The Pueblo Viejo mine opening will be the largest private investment in Dominican history, President Leonel Fernandez said.
