Some relations of ours are looking to visit us from the UK in May, staying with us near Sabaneta but would like to spend 2/ 3 days at a hotel in the mountains. Without travelling too far afield would anyone be able to recommend where they should go and a hotel venue please?

Mountain hotel recommendations?
Halfway between La Vega and Jarabacoa, there is a beautiful complex of small and large villas (mountain lodges)
BRISAS DE LOS ALPES RESORT
The 4-people villa goes for about 2500 per night, 2BR/3BTH, living area, fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, A/C etc.
There are also hotels in downtown Jarabacoa, but in the place I suggested above you will be "in the mountains"

I Liked the Gran Jimenoa in Jarabacoa. It on the river and you can have a room with river view. Nice restauant, room service. Think it was around 30us$ a night but that was 4 years ago. Last phone number I have is 8095746304

Small, clean, comfortable, inexpensive.
Right across the street from the Aguas Blancas restaurant in Constanza.
Beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and a beautiful drive through them to get there.

If you request 116-121, 216-221,or 316-321 your room will be in the new section. Much nicer rooms that also overlook the river. Rate for two including breakfast on weekends is about US $90.
Hotel Altocerro in Constanza is an excellent hotel with very moderate pricing.
