hi there, i have been married to a dominican just over a year (march 9) i want to know what is the best way to get a divorce ASAP! can i do all the paperwork in my country, canada or do i have to travel back to the dr?! thanks

It will be cheaper to do it here inthe DR. At least that has been what I have seen.

Considering Canadian lawyer's fees and such. Where did you get married? In the DR? If so, all the better.

Just get a good local lawyer. As long as the other party is amenable, this is quick and cheap..

Curious about..

Does your about to be ex need to return to the DR (assuming he is in Can.) if he has not completed a residency there? Would also like to know how this would affect a ex-husband in the US that has visa only-in the process of getting green card or holding only a green card.
